SWAG MAG was set up in 1988 to serve military aviation spotters and photographers in the South West of England.
We cover most of the bases in the South West including Culdrose, Exeter ,Bristol Lulsgate, DARA St.Athan, Shawbury, St.Mawgan/Newquay & Yeovilton although St.Athan has now been closed as a repair site , there is still some activity with Hawk detachments and VC-10 refurbishments.
With the RAF moving out of RAF St.Mawgan in 2008,movements will severely reduce, but any sightings will be gladly received.
We have regular contributors from each of these airports, but are on the lookout for contributors for other bases to give us visiting aircraft reports.
Our Monthly magazine can be sent either by post or through the E-mail system.
We are a non-profit making group, but have to charge a yearly fee of £15.00 for post or £12.50 for e-mail to cover the charges involved in postage and ISP fees plus the paper utilised to produce the magazine.
We currently produce an average of 30 pages of data per month and this is normally distributed prior to 15th of each month.
We have magazine swaps with Leeming Group, Leuchars Group, Plymouth and South West Group, The Leeming Group & RAF Shawbury, this enables us to produce a broader based publication.
We do include a feature on forthcoming events/exercises and deployments plus Air Show Previews and Reports, Have a look at the Image pages to see a couple of shots from Culdrose Air Day last year.
