KENWITH CASTLE MODEL BOAT CLUB

Since the formation of the Club, there have been significant changes at Kenwith. The development of a new residential complex and ornamental gardens, have restricted the numbers of model boating enthusiasts who can be accommodated. The heady days of clubs from Gravesend in Kent, Bristol, and Falmouth in the west of Cornwall, are a thing only to be remembered with a great deal of pride and affection.
Under the leadership of the present Committee, headed by Chairman John Berridge,Kenwith Castle MBC have have settled into an ambiance fitting to its location. New mwmbers are joining, and with the close ties of Ilfracombe MBC, we are both the leading MBC's in north Devon, and indeed, far down into north Cornwall.
Our close co-operation was amply demonstrated on the 24th May 2009 at the Kenwith Lake where we had sailing, a BBQ and a finale sail of 6 hand built paddle boats.
A founder member and former Chairman, John Butterwith, is no longer active on the Committee due to work demands, but remains active within the Club having the post of President.
