Carewise Project is Northern Devon's only Young Carers Project.
We have been running since April 2001 and are working to identify and offer support to all Young Carers in Northern Devon.
We work with Young Carers themselves to identify and plan the types of support they say they need or would like.
We provide Young Carers with the following types of Support -:
Recognition of their role as a carer.
Information about their relatives illness/condition i.e. books and videos in simple language about different illnesses and disabilities.
Time for themselves to be children and have fun.
The opportunity to participate in 'out of school' activities.
Provide support/activities for Young Carers on an individual and group basis at our Drop In's and on Monthly Leisure Outings.
Provide a one to one Volunteer Befriending Service to Young Carers - this gives you the chance to talk in confidence, share concerns, worries.
An escort service for scouts,guides, swimming club etc.
